Jonathan Cassens, CPO, LPO

Jonathan received his B.S. in Occupational Therapy in 1986 from the University of Texas, Medical Branch in Galveston, Tx. Shortly thereafter he began working as an Occupational Therapist at Brazos Valley Rehab Center. It was during his years there that he developed an interest in orthotics and prosthetics. In 1988 he attended Northwestern University to obtain formal education in orthotics and prosthetics.

Jonathan opened Central Texas Orthotics in 1989 and began offering patients independence through custom bracing. Eventually he expanded his practice to include custom prostheses and mastectomy products and became Central Texas Orthotics and Prosthetics, LP.

Kirk Hander, CP

Kirk is a Certified Prosthetist who joined Central Texas Orthotics and Prosthetics, LP in 2005. He received his prosthetic training at Shelby State College in 1988 after obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University.

During the course of his prosthetics career, Kirk has gained valuable experience with all levels of amputees, including upper extremity amputations. He also has an extensive background in working with pediatric amputees, which he received during his tenure at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas.

Matthew Zurcher, CPO, LPO

Matthew has a long history with Central Texas Orthotics and Prosthetics, LP and worked here for several years as a technician in the fabrication lab before pursuing his education to become a Licensed Orthotist Prosthetist.

After completing his orthotics and prosthetics education at the University of Texas Southwest Allied Health School in Dallas, as well as four years of undergraduate course work at Texas A&M University, Matthew returned to Central Texas Orthotics and Prosthetics, LP in May of 2005 to begin his orthotic residency.

Billy Barnett
Director of Fabrication Services

Billy joined Central Texas Orthotics and Prosthetics, LP in 1996. During his time at CTOP he has developed expertise in the fabrication of many different types of orthoses and prostheses. Billy directs and supervises the activities of our on-site lab, where all of our custom orthoses and prostheses are fabricated.

He regularly assists Jonathan with patients during the casting and fitting process. Billy is also an ABC Registered Orthotic and Prosthetic Assistant as well as a Registered Orthotic Fitter.

Aaron Barnett
Lab Technician

Aaron joined the Central Texas Orthotics and Prosthetics, LP team in 1998. Aaron specializes in the fabrication of upper and lower extremity orthoses. His love for the work he does shows in the superior quality of the orthoses he produces.

Aaron is also an ABC Registered Orthotic Assistant as well as a Registered Orthotic Fitter.
